SILLYICONE – Julius Reichel
28. 01. – 12. 03. 2022
Reichel thinks of his paintings as steles. He is constantly looking for authentic expressions, putting them into question. His painting is a constant variable. Reichel collects pieces of reality.
“What you see in the picture is just a message, your eyesight maybe not perfectly helping to capture it. The image exists in constant transformation.”
With the exhibition ‘SILLYICONE’, Julius illustrates the notions of faith and man getting lost in his absolute confession. In this geopolitical area, he puts on a pedestal the figure of the Sumerian Gods of Anunnaki, Those who came from heaven. It reminds us of one of the first civilizations whose records were unfortunately destroyed in the burnout of the Library of Alexandria. What is kept in cuneiform script tells the story of aliens who landed on the seventh planet, apparently counted from the outer side of our solar system.
Moving forward several thousand years in time and westward across the Atlantic Ocean by 1492, another civilization was confronted with the human representation of Jesus’ love. What has already happened on the American continent, the Sumerians called Lula Enelo – a crossbreed. Man is a crossbreed and as such an American today is going on a re-journey into space towards the outward direction of our solar system.
Meanwhile, in the present day, we ask ourselves why He leaves us in suffering, because He is so merciful, and why the Others do not visit us, because they have left us here. The narrative of Juliusz Reichel’s painting suggests to me the notion of the multidimensionality of existence. And in fact, maybe they visit us and He saves us, it only happens in other dimensions. For we, here in ours, having a slight understanding of the truths in time so distant that we exist again in another place and under new conditions created for us, and it remains a mystery what we become when we fully accept it in a holistic responsibility.
