“Tomas’s individuality shapes painting as a medium that transcends the canvas, realizing the idea of so-called ‘extended paintings.’ Predka’s works combine fragmentation with the installation-like presence of images; in her exhibitions, she often employs a site-specific approach. She uses monumental canvases and smaller forms that interpenetrate, creating layered compositions of images within images. The harmonious selection of color and composition is dominated by a balance between calm and expression, while a fascination with movement and light leads to the transformation of image into space. She draws her subject matter from travels, encounters (e.g., with the Dalai Lama), and personal memories.”
