She was born and raised in Reykjavík, but lives in Berlin. Although her work is global, it is always rooted in a deeply personal perspective and experience. Her projects are a long-term process based on immersive research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and social engagement. She traces the interconnectedness of current philosophical ideas, social systems, and human perception of the environment. Gudnadóttir has been nominated for and won several awards. Her work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions – most notably at the Berlinische Galerie and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin and, more recently, at the Reykjavik Art Museum.
