Goodnight, sweet dreams

A ostatni obraz Goodnight, sweet dreams opowiada o natłoku lękowych myśli przed snem, będących efektem przeciążenia informacyjnego.

Untitled

A picture about contemporary and historical social fears and anxieties surrounding the automation of work, especially when legislation fails to keep pace with the speed of technological change. The left side of the image concerns the past (the Luddite strikes, during which factory machines were destroyed, and the Titanic anecdote: as far as I know, it is now generally accepted […]

PIEŚŃ PRZYSZŁOŚCI

Katarzyna Wyszkowska’s Song of the Future is a painterly tale of a utopian vision of the world. The exhibition is presented in such a way that viewers can feel like spectators or actors in a theater. The gouaches, delicate, subtle, unobtrusive, are like scenography for a performance about to unfold. The hanging panels washed with watercolor paint, with their subtlety, evoke dreams or visions—materialized utopian […]

Physiological camera

Physiological cameras. These are abstract objects from the world of allegory or metaphor. To some extent, they resemble technical equipment used for image recording, which through transmission is conveyed to us in an unlimited, instantaneous way. The hyper-exhibitionism of contemporary media may be blocking our natural access to uninhibited personal, and therefore unique, perception of reality. Piotr Jaros

Detonations

The image symbolizes the bombing of Ukraine. It is shown as the world wants to accustom us through media, selling war. I used pleasant colors, even though the city is being bombed by drones, missiles. Technology, technique draws a nice frame. Underneath this, it’s difficult, or: “there’s nothing left to gather”. Piotr Jaros

Collection of Unfound Things

Whether irony, sarcasm, or simply mockery – it’s being pushed on us as acceptable. Empathy, nihilism are once again put to the test. How much time will it take to gather up the lost things, lives, to rebuild… Hence, falling fragments of matter onto the Olympic rings symbolizing the games. An organized system of human communication, civilized. Or wonderful lilies emerging from […]

Rolland Garros

I painted this work while being impressed by the color of the brick dust that I saw when visiting the Roland Garros tennis courts in Paris. Some feeling accompanied me: how much stress hundreds of tennis players who fought here for every ball must have endured. Pop, bounce, gently a puff of dust stirred up, rising when the ball meets the court. Color, […]

Flushing Meadows – slice

Flushing Meadows – slice is the title of the last painting shown in the exhibition. Hope flows in color from this work, the order of lines, perhaps it will bring something good… Piotr Jaros

Hanging racket

Similar to the painting detonation, but of a tennis ball. An allegory. Tension bordering on madness during a Grand Slam tournament. Piotr Jaros
